BG Q: Could you tell us about the BoLC A+ Serum/Cream that has been recently released?

CEO Hwang: There have been controversies in the market when it was revealed that various products referred to as ‘applicable BOTOX’ actually contained ingredients totally unrelated to BOTOX.

However, BoLC A+ of Midaskin contains ‘botulinum derived peptides’ with proven wrinkle diminishing eff ects (over 95% of amino acids that consist of Botulinum Polypeptide-1 is identical to the type A light chain of botulinum protein). Among domestic or global companies, Midaskin has succeeded in the fi rst commercialization of “applicable BOTOX,” which is known to be the world’s fi rst.

The core ingredient of Midaskin Serum and Cream is the very Botulinum Polypeptide-1.” ATGC Co., Ltd. owns the patent for the core ingredient, Botulinum Polypeptide-1.

And, Midaskin is the only Korean company possessing the ingredients for developing cosmetics using Botulinum Polypeptide-1 and marketing it within and outside of South Korea.

Peptide derived from botulinum, with the name ‘Methionyl r-Clostridium Botulinum Polypeptide-1 Hexapeptide-40’ in the ICID (International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary), is the first of its kind to be officially registered as a cosmetic ingredient originating from botulinum, and it has been registered in the Korean cosmetic ingredients dictionary in Dec. 2014. This means that it is now possible for it to be used as a cosmetic ingredient.

BG Q: Thank you for that detailed explanation. Many consumers may get excited about the excellent whitening and wrinkle-diminishing effects. Well, what about safety of the products?

CEO Hwang: The serum and cream carefully launched by Midaskin pursue harmony of natural and science, and it follows our product philosophy based on eliminating harmful ingredients.

Mindful of growing consumer concerns regarding health and safety, our number one priority is the safety of our products and the health of our customers. Therefore, we use safe levels of Botulinum Polypeptide-1. We also completed safety tests and clinical trial on humans to ensure the effi cacy and safety of our products.

BG Q: Lastly, please let us know about your future plans for the company.

CEO Hwang: The newly launched product actually contains botulinum derived peptides for the first time in the world, and its effects have been proven through clinical tests. We will expand both domestically and internationally the markets through continued development and introduction of high-quality products.

With the launching of the serum set consisting of five bottles of injection container type, along with the cream, we will continue to introduce new products with anti-aging functions and various brands for hospitals and clinics. Also, by taking advantage of a variety of usages of the Botulinum Polypeptide-1, we are planning to continuously develop and launch succeeding products including haircare products, as well as expand the overseas markets for global supply of our products.
