Barley coffee is a low-caffeine coffee made by mixing barley and coffee, originally made for Emperor Gojong. The first Korean barista, Dongjin Lee, has blended this coffee brand in honor of Emperor Gojong, who tasted the first coffee ever in the country.
Chungmec, which is an agricultural corporation was established in September 2007 based on Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do in Korea. Chungmec specializes in colored barley and also makes food and beverages such as coffee, barleycorn, cookies and diabetes porridge of whole grains provided by local farmers, through contracts with farmers.
