Becomes Popular Despite Recession, Accelerating Growth in Overseas Markets

Expanding into running wear, menswear

Amid the slump in the domestic fashion market, ‘K-athleisure’ clothing companies are growing rapidly by pioneering overseas markets with clothing for running (running wear) and menswear. ‘Andar,’ which is known as Jun Ji-hyun’s yoga clothes and ‘Xexymix,’ which is building its brand image with entertainer Dex as sportswear he wears are prime examples. These companies (with the same brand name) are believed to have achieved record-high business performance last year. Athleisure is a compound word of athletic’ and ‘leisure.’

According to the fashion industry, Andar is expected to achieve the highest performance since its founding in 2018, with sales reaching over KRW 300 billion, growing more than 25% compared to the last year’s sales (KRW 236.7 billion). Given the rapid increase in the running population, the company strengthened related product lines, including running wear and shoes, and marketed them aggressively, being a catalyst for sales increase.

Last June, monthly sales exceeded KRW 1.2 billion in Singapore, and in Japan, online sales alone exceeded KRW 2 billion.
Xexymix also reported record-high sales last year since its founding in 2017 (the Xexymix brand was launched in 2015). Strong sales of running products and overseas success in Japan and other countries boosted sales. As running products which were launched in July, 2024 have begun selling well in 2025, the company achieved approximately KRW 20 billion in sales last year.
