The confectionary and ice cream industries are pouring their efforts into exporting snacks and ice cream, supported by the popularity of the K-culture boom. While expanding regions for export from the USA to all Asian areas and Europe, the company is increasing production and introducing products tailored to local markets through its overseas factories. Total exports of snacks and ice cream are projected to exceed KRW 1.5 trillion this year, an increase of over KRW 200 billion compared to last year.
Lotte Wellfood is currently exporting Pepero to approximately 50 countries worldwide and plans to expand its retail stores in the southeastern and western areas of the United States this year. Last year, Pepero’s overall export growth rate was 24.1%, but it was higher in North America with 29.8%. The company is particularly accelerating its penetration of this region through its factory in India, which began operations in the second half of last year.

Crown Haitai Confectionary is also consistently expanding its overseas markets every year. Crown Confectionary uses Australia, the USA, and China as its overseas bases to export flagship products ― including Secom-Dalcom, Heim, Jolly Pong, Couque D’Asse, My Chew, and C Corn Chip as its main products, while Haitai Confectionary uses the USA, Japan, and China as its overseas bases to export products including Honey Butter Chip, Oh Yes!, Homerun Ball, Roasted Potato Sticks, and Ace.
Orion broke ground on a new factory building in Tver, Russia, last January. When it is completed in the second half of next year, annual production capacity is expected to double. At the Tver plant, the company plans to diversify its production lines, which are focused on Choco Pie, to include products such as Cham Carp Cakes, Fresh Pie, and others.
Binggrae’s ice cream exports grew by approximately 20% from KRW 82.9 billion in 2024 to KRW 99.4 billion last year. This year, they are expected to exceed KRW 110 billion.
