Radar and Thermal Monitoring Platform
[INQ. NO. 2609C21] McKare is a contactless AI smart-care solution that detects vital signs and risky behavior without cameras. Room sensors combine radar and thermal data to provide health and safety monitoring without a worn device, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
VSR-series hardware integrates 24GHz micro-Doppler radar, a thermal-array sensor, and an edge-AI engine. Proprietary signal processing detects vibrations as small as 0.2 mm, generating detailed turning points in heart-rate and breathing waveforms for subtle contactless measurement.
Within approximately 25 square meters, the system detects heart rate, breathing rate, movement, occupancy, and falls without contact or wearable sensors. Heart-rate and breathing detection reach at least 90% accuracy within two meters, while other functions operate at up to five meters.
Cloud-based analysis calculates six proprietary indicators covering heart-rate variability, heart-rate vitality, breathing variability, breathing vitality, the heart-breathing relationship, and personalized biometric patterns for each monitored individual over time. A web and mobile dashboard presents monitoring, alerts, lifelogs, and analytical reports.
Four years of clinical operation across 2,000 households and data from more than 1,200 crisis cases support detection of individual warning signs appearing days or months before an emergency. This shifts care from post-event alerts toward prevention and increases time for intervention.
More than 22,000 sensors have been supplied in Korea and overseas, including 9,000 households of older adults living alone in Gyeongsangnam-do across continuing field operation. Other deployments include municipalities, nursing hospitals, care facilities, veterans’ hospitals, and senior housing.
International verification is under way in care settings in Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Germany alongside ongoing proof-of-concept programs. Certifications include Korean KC alongside CE RED, FCC, MIC, SRRC, and RCM approvals for major overseas markets.
JCFTechnology has specialized in contactless vital-sign measurement since 2016 and is working with partners across ten countries through McKare projects. Its registered intellectual property includes ten Korean and five overseas patents, and the company participates in IEC and ISO standardization.
