South Korea Reshapes the Future of Care with Technology
South Korea is aging faster than almost any country in the world. In 2025, the share of people aged 65 and older passed 20 percent, officially making Korea a super aged society.
As the elderly population grows, demand for rehabilitation, health management and daily living support is rising quickly, while workforce shortages and heavy workloads strain the care sector.

In response, Korea’s care policy is moving away from facility and hospital centered support. Community integrated care now links medical, nursing and welfare services so older adults and people with disabilities can stay in their own homes.
This shift is driving new demand for rehabilitation and home care products, as well as care technologies designed for use in households and local communities across the country.
Korean companies are responding with AI, robotics, IoT and sensor technologies that monitor users’ health and activity, detect falls and emergencies, support rehabilitation training, and assist care workers through smart devices.
These agetech products are gaining attention across the elderly friendly and care industries for helping users live independently while easing the burden on families and care workers.
This industry and technology will be on display at Reha·Homecare 2026, running from October 21 to 23 at COEX Hall D in Seoul.
The show will feature rehabilitation and physical therapy solutions, mobility aids, assistive devices for people with disabilities, welfare equipment and home care medical devices, alongside AI care, digital health and care tech products.

Biotech enters everyday life
Held alongside Reha·Homecare, the Bio Healthcare Industry Show will showcase biotechnology applied to everyday products, including health functional foods, medical foods for patients, bio cosmetics, natural and organic materials, biopharmaceuticals, and connected, intelligent medical devices spanning health, prevention and wellness.
Korea’s rapid aging has produced deep field experience alongside strong ICT and bio technology, giving the country a notable position in the global care and healthcare market for products and partnerships.
During the exhibition, export consultations with invited overseas buyers and one on one business matching sessions will connect Korean companies with international partners.
Reha·Homecare 2026 aims to be a business platform where overseas buyers can discover promising Korean companies and innovative products, and explore new partnerships for export, distribution and technology cooperation.
