Shoe-Integrated Pressure Analysis
[INQ. NO. 2610C11] PediSol measures plantar pressure distribution, left-right balance and gait patterns in real time through precision pressure sensors integrated into footwear. Its insole format brings clinical analysis into a wearable system for use in everyday and rehabilitation settings.
Forty high-density sensors on each side map pressure across the whole sole. This detailed mapping captures small shifts in the center-of-pressure (COP) movement path and foot imbalances, turning pressure measurements into information for gait and balance assessment.
The system generates a professional gait and plantar-pressure report within five minutes. Wearing the instrumented shoes avoids the space requirements of treadmills or dedicated mats, making measurement practical across different hospital, rehabilitation, welfare and sports medicine environments.
Approximately twenty gait and balance indicators are automatically quantified and visualized. Measures include walking stride length, symmetry and the stance-to-swing phase ratio, providing clinicians with structured information rather than requiring each indicator to be calculated manually.
Visual reports help patients and caregivers understand the assessment and support motivation during rehabilitation. The same reporting functions reduce clinicians’ workload while enabling observation of changes as rehabilitation treatment progresses for an individual patient or user.

Potential applications include hospitals, rehabilitation institutions, elderly welfare facilities and sports medicine organizations. The measurements support gait-capacity evaluation, balance assessment, rehabilitation progress monitoring and fall-risk evaluation, connecting the wearable’s real-time data with several practical clinical and rehabilitation assessment needs.
Comparative clinical testing against GaitRite and Pedoscan demonstrated clinical reliability. Acquisition costs are approximately one-fifth to one-tenth of those of large analysis systems costing tens to hundreds of millions of Korean won, offering a shoe-based alternative to equipment that occupies dedicated floor space.
Spina Systems Co., Ltd. combines sensor technology with artificial intelligence (AI) gait-analysis algorithms. Its in-house manufacturing process uses flexible component design and force-sensitive resistor (FSR) printing, alongside embedded platforms, big data and algorithms for gait and balance analysis.
More than twenty-five intellectual and industrial property rights support the company’s full technology stack. Products have been supplied to several Korean rehabilitation hospitals, while continuing research and development is extending the range of applications.
