Gitdeum’s “Sea Veggi Chips” is vegetable and seaweed chips, based on the unique Korean traditional fried snack called ‘Bugak.’ The Sea Veggi Chips are manufactured by using 100% natural Korean ingredients such as laver, glutinous rice and seasonal vegetables. The chips don’t contain any chemically synthesized additives in order to keep the original flavor and aroma of each indigent, such as the savory glutinous rice and the aromatic laver, being good for refreshment and substitute of breakfast, etc.
The vegetables and seaweeds are cleaned, dipped in sticky rice starch, dried and fried by using brown rice oil, which provides a more savory taste and crispier texture with a richer flavor and aroma, especially for grains. The premium oil is extracted from the highly nutritious gemmule (embryo bud of rice) and aleurone layer (rice bran), which are then refined.
The following five different tastes are available. Garlic flavor: Made by mincing garlic and adding it to the chips, the garlicflavored snack features perfect balance of the laver’s aroma and the garlic’s pungent taste.
Spicy flavor: The spicy flavor has a distinct, intense Korean spiciness, which was made by adding Korean Cheongyang Red Pepper into the chips. It contains capsaicin, which gives it the spicy taste.
Original flavor: The original flavor is only made with crispy laver and glutinous rice using the traditional recipe of seaweed chips.
Onion flavor: The onion flavor has a sweet and subtle onion taste, which is made by grinding raw onions and adding them to the chips. It also contains turmeric powder.
Bean flavor: The bean flavor has a distinct, nutty taste, which is made by the addition of roasted and ground beans.
