The Korea International Steel & Nonferrous Metal Industry Expo (KISNON), Korea’s most representative exhibition in the area of steel and nonferrous metals, will take place from September 24 to 27 at KINTEX, Gyeonggi Province, Korea with even more diversified exhibit items and contents than prior events.
This year’s edition aims to provide an optimized venue delivering valuable outcomes to people in the industry including suppliers, consumers, etc.. According to the exhibition organizer, possibly exhibitors and buyers exceeding 250 and 30,000 respectively are expected to meet with potential customers.
With a scale of 15,000 sq m (800 booths), the fair forecasts it would fully accommodate more guests than in 2012 when the exhibition attracted 28,606 general visitors and 15,997 buyers respectively. Also, 159 exhibitors from 15 nations enhanced their business performance through differentiated activities of promotion and marketing.
Buyers in 2012 held meetings with domestic and abroad global companies including Hyundai Steel, POSCO, Poonsan, Hyundai Hysco, Union Steel, Dongbu Steel, etc. and reaped practical business information to utilize for their business in designing new customized strategies and were able to gain advanced technologies and purchase new products.
Hosted by the Korea Iron & Steel Association (KOSA), Korea Nonferrous Metal Association (KONMA), KISNON2014 is expected to reshape itself as a more globalized fair with possibly anticipated foreign companies and the schedules designed to fully meet the demand from the abroad market.
KISNON2014 also has significant importance as Korea has emerged as a global steel industry hub. Korea is recognized as the world’s No. 6 steel producer and leads the new paradigm in the steel sector and related areas by regularly developing advanced technology, which has a big spread effect in related industry circles.
As of 2012, Korea’s global steel market share was 4.6% with the production of 69.07 mil. tons of steel. And the nation ranked the world’s No. 5 and No. 1 in the yearly steel demand (54.1 mil. tons) and in the consumption amount per person (1.062 tons), respectively.
