The global halal industry is estimated to be worth about US$2 trillion as of 2014. 
Amid the growing attention being paid to one of the fastest growing consumer markets in the world, the Korean government took the first step of signing an MOU with the United Arab Emirates last year.
Now, the halal industry is emerging as a new export market with big potential for many Korean companies as the halal industry has expanded beyond the food industry into cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and even the service sector such as dining, hotels and tourism.
HALAL EXPO KOREA, the first of its kind in the country was held last year with the goal of supporting halal-related companies interested in advancing into the global halal markets to promote diversification of export markets, and the expo recorded a very successful debut with attendance of 110 exhibitors and 35,000 visitors. A large number of high-level personnel from authoritative Halal organizations attended the exhibition and conference. Halal markets are expected to contribute to creating potential business opportunities for not only companies involved in agro-fishery food, raw material medicines, cosmetics, Muslim tourism, investment and finance, and also for job seekers.
Against this backdrop, the 3rd HALAL EXPO KOREA will take place for three days from August 18 to 20 at COEX in Seoul.
Coincidentally, the upcoming HALAL EXPO KOREA will be held in conjunction with the Organic & Natural Trade Fair 2016 and Fermented Food & Culture Show 2016. In addition, various conferences, seminars, and business matching programs will be organized as well.
