[INQ. NO. 2111C08] MEDIF is toothpaste designed for those with sensitive teeth and gum disease. The toothpaste with black color is made using 99% silver leaf. This natural product is patented for its component acai berry extracts that help to ease gum disease and sensitive teeth. It is made without any chemical ingredients including paraben, triclosan, CMIT, MIT, SLS, artificial fragrance, sodium benzoate, or harmful animal ingredients.
Paraben is a typical synthetic preservative. However, accumulated paraben in the body can cause breast cancer, so it has been prohibited to add five kinds of parabens to foods since 2008. Triclosan is used as an antimicrobial for toothpaste. It has been prohibited to use since 2016 due to the harmful effects in cases of cumulative exposure.
CMIT/MIT is known as a disinfectant ingredient for humidifiers. In Korea, it has been restricted from use as a preservative in toothpaste.
SLS is widely used in daily supplies as a surfactant. However, it has side effects such as irritating skin cells, and edema which is one of the substances causing mouth odor. No harmful animal ingredients are added. The artificial fragrance takes a long time to be discharged from the body.
It also has side effects such as headache, dizziness and nausea. Tar color is a synthetic coloring component. There is room for argument it causes ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Sodium benzoate is a widely used preservative. This is a hazardous component that causes cancer and various skin diseases. The mineral is oil, and by-products of refining petroleum may cause serious irritation to the skin. It also possibly contains impurities.

Saccharin is a synthetic sweetener, which is 300~500 times sweeter than sugar. There is room for argument whether it causes cancer. Fluorine is a component that prevents dental cavities. However, it causes staining of teeth, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
