K-coffee franchises are rapidly expanding their entry into foreign countries including the United States and Japan, following their expansion into Southeast Asia. Major companies are seeking breakthroughs abroad, driven by the K-food boom.
According to industry sources, The Venti plans to open its first store in Las Vegas, USA, in the second half of this year. The company has already secured a business foundation by signing a multi-unit franchise agreement with a local company. Its strategy is to increase brand awareness in the North American market by opening more stores in the future.

Paik’s Coffee and Mega Coffee are also considering opening stores in the United States, while Twosome Place is exploring the possibility as well. The United States, being the world’s largest coffee market, is considered a key testing ground for the competitiveness of K-coffee.
K-coffee franchises are beginning to make a full-scale entry into the Japanese market in full swing. Paik’s Coffee is preparing to open its first store in Japan this year and is reviewing differentiation strategies; for example, introducing Japan-only menus and a mobile application. Mega MGC Coffee opened eight stores in Mongolia, and now has established a Japanese subsidiary and is currently discussing how and when to open a store. Currently in Japan, Mammoth Coffee is operating four stores, while Hollys Coffee is running two.
In particular, Mammoth Coffee, known for its low prices and generous sizes, is rapidly establishing itself in Japan. Stores located in major commercial districts in Tokyo are competing with local brands with a cost-effective strategy by selling 940ml large Americanos for around JPY 400.
Paik’s Coffee has expanded its business by operating a total of 18 stores in the Philippines and Singapore, while Mega MGC Coffee has increased the number of its stores in Mongolia to eight within just two years of opening its first store. The Venti has also expanded its overseas reach by entering Canada, Vietnam, and Jordan.
Compose Coffee has entered Singapore and Taiwan and is operating stores there, while Ediya Coffee has opened stores in Guam, Malaysia and Canada, and is considering opening more stores in Laos.
